What is the difference between religion and sect?

Hello Yar Ali!

First of all, a warm greeting to the re-meeting.

Translation basis of the biblical quotations: Unitary translation

Term “sect”

Definition according to Brockhaus

Originally a neutral term of a philosophical, political or religious direction or “following; today most valuable term for religious communities from the point of view of their deviation from the deviation in the Christian churches from the truth in force in the Christian churches and their apostasy from their unity.

original meaning

Acts 5/17 (Egg)…….. Then the high priest rose up with jealousy, and all who stood on his side, even the group [1

the Sadducees.

Acts 15/5 (Egg)….. Some of them rose from the circle

the Pharisees who believed, and said, They must be circumcised, and they must be asked to abide by the law of Moses.

Acts 26/5 (Egg) ….. I am known to them from the past, and if they want, they can testify that I follow the strictest direction.

of our religion, namely as Pharisees.

The Greek word “A”, sometimes modified by the grammatical case, is consistently reproduced in consistent translations with “sect”.

are Christians a sect?

Acts 24/5 (Egg) ……. We think that this man is a plague, a troublemaker among all the Jews in the world and a ringleader of the Nazoraean sect.

Acts 24/14 ( I) ) ……. But I confess this to you: according to the (new) way, which they call a sect, I end up with the God of my fathers.I believe in all that is written in the law and in the prophets,

Acts 28/22 (JB)……. But we wish to hear from you what you think; for we know from this sect that it is at odds everywhere.

From these statements it can be seen that the Jews called all Christians a sect, because they believed that they had become apostate of the Jewish religion.

various attempts to turn early Christianity into a sect

From the description given by the Bible about such attempts, it is best to see what the Bible writers understood under a sect.

1.Cor.1/10-13 (Egg)….. But I exhort you, brethren, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord: Be all united, and do not tolerate divisions among you; be entirely of one mind and one opinion.11 It was told me, my brethren, of the people of the Chlo茅, that there was strife and strife among you. “I mean that each of you says something different, “I am holding on to Paul – I to Apollos – I to Cephas – I to Christ.13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

One option was to choose human leaders instead of recognizing Christ as the primary leader.

2.Tim.2/16-18 (Egg)…… Godless chatter will get out of the way; such people will fall deeper and deeper into godlessness 17 and their doctrine will eat around themselves like a cancerous ulcer. They include Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18who have strayed from the truth and claim that the resurrection has already taken place. In this way, they destroy faith in some.

1.Cor.15/12 (Egg)….. But if it is proclaimed that Christ was raised from the dead, how can some of you say, there is no resurrection of the dead?

A second variant is the dissemination of false doctrines that deviate from the truth.

1.Cor.4/8 (Egg)………. You are already full, you have already become rich, without us you have come to dominion. If only you had come to rule! Then we could rule together with you.

A third variant, according to this statement, is to bring forward the period of 1000 years determined by God in which Christ would reign (Revelation 20/6).

later sect formation by apostasy from the truth

Mat.13/24-30 (Egg)……. And Jesus told them another parable: With the kingdom of heaven it is like a man sown good seed in his field. While the people slept, his enemy came, sowed weeds under the wheat, and went away again. When the seed rose and the ears formed, the weeds also appeared. And the servants went to the landlord and said, Lord, have you not sown good seed in your field? So where does the weeds come from? He said, “That’s what an enemy of me has done.” And the servants said to him, Shall we go and tear it out? He said, No, otherwise you will rip out the wheat together with the weeds. Let both grow until harvest. When the time of harvest is here, I will say to the workers, Gather the weeds first, and bind them in bundles to burn it; but bring the wheat into my barn.

Jesus explained this parable to a good extent himself

Mat.13/37-43 (egg)……. He said, “The man who sows the good seed is the Son of Man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; the weeds are the sons of the evil one; 39 The enemy who sowed it is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; the workers in these kingdoms; the weeds are the sons of the evil one; 39 The enemy who sowed it is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; the workers in these kingdoms; the weeds are the sons of the evil one; 39 The enemy who sowed it is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; the workers in these fields; the weeds are the sons of the evil one; 39 The enemy who sowed it is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; the workers in these; the weeds are the sons of the evil one; 39 The enemy who sowed it is the r Harvest are the angels. 40 “As the weeds are gathered up and burned in the fire, so will it be at the end of the world: 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels and they will gather together from his kingdom all that have deceived others and transgressed the law of God, 42 and they will be put into the furnace. where the fire is burning. There they will howl and gritt their teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their father . He who has ears, let him hear!

Jesus sowed the good seed: true Christians who taught the truth.During the time of the waste, the “weed” or “weed” was created. Christianity as the sum of the sham Christians. The truth was obscured. In the Last Days, however, “wheat” and “weed” would be separated from each other. People who have love for the truth would research (Dan.12/4,10) and find them again; People of the same spirit would join in. The rest, however, would stick to their unbiblical teachings developed over the centuries and continue to form the total number of sects.

more biblical statements on sect formation

2.Petr.2/1,2 (Egg)…….. But there were also false prophets in the people; so there will also be false teachers among you. They will spread perishable false doctrines and deny the ruler who redeemed them; but in doing so, they will soon plunge themselves into ruin. In their debauchery they will find many followers, and because of them the way of truth will come into disrepute.

2.Thess.2/2-10 (Egg)…….. Don’t let yourself be so quickly upset and terrified when a prophetic word or speech, or a letter purportedly from us, claims that the Day of the Lord is already here. 3Let no one deceive you in any way!For first the apostasy must come from God, and the man must appear to be the unbeliever, the Son of Periverance, 4the adversary, who rises above all that is called God or sanctuary so much that he even sits down in the temple of God and pretends to be God. 5 Do you not remember that I told you this when I was with you? 6 You also know what is holding him back now, that he may only be revealed at the appointed time. 7 For the secret power of indecency is already at work ; but the one that has held them back until now must be eliminated. 8Then the unlawful man will become visible to all. Jesus the Lord will kill him by the breath of his mouth and destroy him by his coming and appearance. 9 But the wicked, when he comes, will have the power of Satan . He will perform with great power and do deceptive signs and wonders. 10 He will deceive all who are lost and deceive them into injustice; they are lost because they have closed themselves to the love of truth through which they were to be saved.

Paul speaks a clear language here; before the Second Coming of Christ, the apostasy would come not one!

Acts 20/29.30 (Egg)…… I know that after I leave, ravenous wolves will invade you and not spare the flock.and even from among you will men appear, drawing the disciples to their side with their false words.

After the removal of the last obstacle (death of the Apostle John), the apostasy would come out fully:

2.Joh 7 (Egg)….. Many deceivers have gone out into the world; they do not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is the seducer and the Antichrist.

Roman se.16/17 (Egg)….. I exhort you, my brethren, to pay attention to those who, contrary to the doctrine you have learned, cause division and confusion: stay away from them!

Tit.3/10,11 (Egg)….. If you have admonished a sectarian once and a second time, avoid him.11 “You know, such a man is on the wrong side of the road ; he sins and speaks to himself the judgment.

Rev.2/14-16 (Egg)….. But I have something against you: with you there are people who hold fast to the teaching of Balaam; Balak taught Balak to tempt the Israelites to eat meat dedicated to idols and to fornicate. 15So there are also with you people who hold fast to the teachings of the Nikolaites in the same way. 16Turn over now! Otherwise I will come soon and fight them with the sword out of my mouth.

Distinguishing features

true believers: rely primarily on God’s word and interpretations consistent with the whole Word of Scripture.(Interpretation according to the rule: the Bible (not a human being) explains the Bible)

Sectarians: rely primarily on the interpretation of various religious leaders without checking whether they agree with the whole Bible word.In many cases, they blindly rely on dogmas that must not be questioned (Mat.15/14).

true believers: They are given an understanding of the Scriptures (Revelation 1/1; Dan.12/10), although in the case of prophecy they do not recognize every detail in the first place.

Sectarians: Their teachings are teachings of contradiction (Mat.15/14).

true believers: are not part of the world (John 15/18:19), therefore behave politically neutrally.

Sectarians: give in to the group compulsion and give first to the “Caesar” and then to God the honor.(Mat.22/21). Contrary to the teaching sether of Jesus, they even wage wars according to different nationality within their own religious community.

true believers: are diligently involved in missionary work (Mat.24/14; 28/19,20).

Sectarians: leave missionary activity to a special group (spiritual), but they prefer less missionary work than the custom of letting the faithful come to themselves.

true believers: they have love among themselves as brothers and therefore do not participate in works that serve war (Genesis 20/13; Roman se.13/10; Jes.2/4).

Sectarians: They do not understand that obedience to God is superior to obedience to the state (Acts 5/29).

true believers: are brothers; some of whom are supervised with increased service tasks (Mat.20/25-27).

Sectarians: strive for power, form a hierarchy and have developed a higher class (spirituality; cf.Mat.23/6-8).

unbiblical teachings .

the doctrine of the immortality of the soul (insinuating hell)

The Bible writers understood by a soul a person as such or an animal.

Trinity

Christ saw himself as the first creature (Revelation 3/14) and not as part of a triune God.

The sects of Christianity arose from apostasy from true Christianity

Mixing with philosophy (Col.2/8)[2)

Mixing with pagan teachings and customs (1 Cor.10/20,21; 2.Cor.6/14-17)

Intertwining with politics (John 18/36,37; John 17/14; Jak.4/4)

moral decline (homosexuality; extramarital intercourse (1.Cor.6/9,10; Roman s. 1/26,27)

oppression, exploitation, extermination of ethnic groups; all in the name of the “Christian” religion (2.Petr.2/2)

religion into a business (e.g. indulgence trade: 1.Petr.5/2)

Formation of a ruling hierarchy (Mat.23/8-11; 1.Petr.5/3)

demonic miracles (signs) (Mat.7/21; 2.Thess.2/9)

Marriage Ban (Celibacy) (1.Tim.4/1-3)

Image worship (Genesis 20/4)

“Sect” is usually a “diversion” from an existing community of faith.J.eho.vas witnesses have not branched off from any community, but have returned to original Christianity through Bible research alone; according to the Prophet Daniel through Bible research: Dan.12/4 (NW)………….And as for you, O Daniel, keep the words secret, and see the book to the end. Many will roam, and the [true knowledge will be overflowing)

Daniel 12/9-10 (NW)…….. And he went on, “Go, Daniel, for the words are kept secret and sealed until the time of the end.10 Many will cleanse themselves and make themselves white and will be purified. And the wicked shall surely act evil, and none of the wicked shall understand; but those who have understanding shall understand it.

The Bible says at this point that in the Last Days (Today!) Christians would be there who would return to the original Christianity after the time of apostasy through Bible research. They are considered “serious biblical scholars” or “serious bible researchers”. Became known as Jehovah’s Witnesses in the 1930s.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are willing and free to help people get to know the Bible (more precisely).

Kind regards

HP (variable)

[1) Sect

[2) the word “his” used by the translator in front of the word philosophy is not in the Bible.Paul was referring to Greek philosophy, as can be seen from the phrase “human tradition”.
