These include the following questions:
- What is Quora’s policy on nudity and sexual images?
- What about answers and comments that include sexualized language/content on issues that aren’t about sex?
(“Questions that are not about sex” = questions on Quora where it would make no sense to use the topic of sex (and the associated filters for adult content))
The official guideline is explained below. This page was last updated on March 12, 2013.
Topics & Settings for Adult Content
Quora is open-minded about questions that address adult content, including the subject of sex.The topic of sex is sensitive and we have set ourselves the goal of creating a discussion space in which users do not feel uncomfortable. In view of this, adult content issues will only appear in your feed if you have agreed to it by (1) setting the adult content filter settings in your privacy settings in https://de.quora.com/settings/pr… to explicitly allow this content, or (2) follow a specific topic with adult content (for example, sex) that has been provided with the question.
Our goal is to create an environment with and on Quora where authors can write great and reusable questions and answers.General questions that can serve as reusable resources are preferred over anecdotes that affect only one person. Questions about sex should be useful and should not be funny, childish, hostile or pictorial.
Sex-related and sexually provocative images. Sexual, sexual, sexual and sexually provocative images are only allowed on pages where adult content is discussed and which has been marked with the corresponding Quora adult themes (e.g. certain adultcontent, sex and/or other issues) that limit their distribution.
Because profile pictures of users appear throughout the page, sex-related image content is not allowed in profile pictures.
Sexualized and sex-related language: in answers to pages with questions related to sex. On these pages it is okay to use such language if the site is appropriately marked with certain adultcontent, sex and/or other related topics.
Sexualized and sex-related language: in answers to pages with questions that have nothing to do with sex. Users can use sex-related language in their answers to such questions when it is important for the quality of the answer. However, these users should be careful and ensure that the language is not funny, childish, hostile or pictorial.
However, users should avoid sex-related language/content in their responses if it is not important for the quality of the response. For example, users should avoid using sexualized language to (1) bring a witty punchline or (2) an illustration, anecdote, or example that is not important to the answer.
Theme images for sex-related topics
Images for sex-related subjects should either resemble (1) images that can be found in medical/anatomical textbooks, or (2) should not be sexually suggestive or obscene overall.
