What has been invented by the Dutch that is now being used throughout the world?

I still wanted to say margarine…

But that’s not quite true.

Margarine was conceived by a French chemist (Napoleon had written a contest to find a cheap butter substitute). But that still required the use of shredded cow’s beef fat and was not suitable for the whole large production. However, in Oss there was a pharmacist who discovered a formula where animal fat no longer needed to be used, but mainly leaned on coconut and palm oil (which, thanks to India, was abundant here). The Jurgens family already built a margarine factory quite quickly. By chance, however, this coconut and palm oil was initially purchased from the Van den Bergh family, who ran an Toko in the village. These were also in the butter trade, as farmers in the area used butter as a means of payment. These also wanted to have a margarine factory opened, but it did not start (haha) from the beginning between the Jewish family Van den Bergh and the Catholic family Jurgens, who also had considerable political influence. De Van den Berghs first moved to Kleve, and later to Rotterdam, where they became acquainted with the Lever brothers, palm oil traders from London. There they became so big that they eventually bought the tent of Jurgens and formed Unilever together. But that aside. In fact, a lot more has come from OSS:

The photocopier.

It must have been an exciting time, in Oss.

Because there were more inventors and entrepreneurs to tinkering and tinkering in their sheds. For example, the Van der Grinten family supplied dyes to the margarine factories. In its pure form, Margarine has a somewhat unappetising appearance (the middle between white and grey blue) and to make the lake look like real butter it had to be colored. At the Van der Grinten home it became late in the evening, because in his evening, one Louis tinkered also a way to copy blueprints. Eventually, the eureka moment came, and Oc茅 was born.

Insulin.

No, insulin did indeed exist. But the idea that insulin is important to the body, and how to make it, is not yet clear.

But in Oss there would soon change in the 20s of the 20th century. In Oss, the family of Zwanenberg had been settled down for some time (a Jewish family immigrated from Schwanenburg). They were very quick to say that the amount of pig farmers present in Brabant and a newly constructed railway line was a golden combination, and they founded a factory that started processing pork into smoked sausage and bacon for the English market. They also made all sorts of products, from soap to margarine (for Oss the Van Zwanenbergs were already something too big to be able to be bullied by the competitors). Yet they remained with a quantity of offal. Until she faced a publication of Canadian researchers who had discovered insulin. Then, together with a few local chemists, we took a good look at the mountain offal. Soon one found a way to extract insulin from the pancreas on a large scale, and established the subsidiary Organon, which had to focus entirely on the making of drugs and investigate whether there are any more profitable substances between Slaughter waste.

The CD was developed by Philips in the late 1970s in a collaboration with Sony/CBS

When it was time to start capturing the exact sizes of the CD so that the CDs would fit globally in all players meant making some very precise molds.Well, that costs money and then thinks a cheese head of course whether it can be otherwise and that can.

Coins are very precise and easily available. So the size of the hole was quickly determined: a dime. Try it once you have one. Piest Precas.

And the size of the picture?A Heineken Beer Coaster!

So you see.

Real innovation happens in the pub.

The kidney dialysis device.

Only few people will know that it is a device invented and developed by a Dutchman.

What is it for something?

Kidney dialysis comes around the corner, if for some reason (or a combination of reasons) your kidneys do not purify your blood properly.

You are connected to a machine by means of an input and an outgoing line (each with its own needle, or sometimes 1 needle with a Y-shaped piece between them). That machine contains a filter. In a certain amount of time (2 to 5 hours during the day or up to 8 hours during the night) the blood in your body is circulated a number of times. In 4 hours a little more than 80 litres of blood goes through the machine, so the blood present in the body is purified about 13 times. This does not provide completely clean blood, but it is about 20% cleaner than for the treatment. The effect of the treatment is different for everyone.

There is much more to tell, but a targeted question might be better.

Dutch people are known as the best builders in the world.I think it was invented by the Dutch. Because the Netherlands is so low and a flood would become a disaster.

Like the disaster that took place in 1953, when the broke through. Then they became the best builders. Because the Netherlands, the Netherlands would not be if it did not go deeper and find a solution, to prevent a disaster in the future. The Netherlands is therefore specialised in building.

Historical floods and flood disasters

And also with the dry laying of land has come the Netherlands, such as Flevoland or the island Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.

Capitalism.

Dutch already had its first stock market crash in 1637.Then Cape Town did not exist yet and Nieuw Amsterdam was still a village.

Whether we should be so proud is a second, but at least we have a bit more experience than others. Also negative experiences.

Tulip Mania-Wikipedia

Sandra de Wild has already given a nice list (many have supplemented this).

In my opinion, Coconut bread can also be included.
