How can leaders learn to lead?

You are only a leader if you lead.So if you still have to learn, you’re not a leader yet. Leiden is something that you can learn in part, but it builds on properties that you must already have in mind, such as initiative and dominance.

What I also want to add: leadership is subject to devaluation in contemporary use.It has become a container concept in which every self-proclaimed management guru tries to cram aspects of his ideal image.

But leadership is primarily one-headed rule in the core.It may not be soft, but is always direct, resolute and hard.

Do you know this picture?

The story would be that the leader will walk in the back and take care of the weak specimens in his pack.

But in nature, the role of a leader is not at all to bring the weak group members. His role is to keep intruders out, to counteract changes-young males trying to get his females out. And within its group The Wolf leader maintains discipline. Dissident male wolves are kept small, fought, and if necessary driven away.

That does not mean that the components that the management gurus are so keen to promote, are wrong or do not exist, so only do not belong to the notion of ‘ leadership ‘.You can grab any word to hang your ideal world. Call it for my part Pancake. And siege it as thick as you want.

I prefer the term ‘ manager ‘-the meaning of that word is twofold: it means both managing-care-and getting things done.

Start by realizing that you have leaders in all shapes and sizes.Running a family requires leadership, but very different from the first aid, on a warship or as a spiritual figure. Of course there is overlap, but it is only to give an idea. You can also see it as a predisposition or property, whose leaders often possess multiple aspects when it is good. It does help to realise and enumerate where you have strengths and weaknesses as a leader.
